Local Firefighter Stresses Importance of Smoke Detectors After House Fire
<p>A Fort Wayne homeowner narrowly escaped a dangerous fire thanks to her dog, Enzo. The incident, which occurred early Monday morning, has sparked renewed discussion about the critical need for working smoke detectors in every home.</p>

<p>Lieutenant Timothy Brocher with the West Central Fire District says the fire could have had a much worse outcome if not for Enzo’s quick actions.</p>
<p>&#8220;The homeowner did not wake up to any smoke alarms or anything like that and was woken up by the dog, which initially saved her life,&#8221; Brocher explained. &#8220;If she hadn’t woken up, it could have been much more serious.&#8221;</p>
