Garfield Re-2 School District Names New Superintendent
<p>GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Garfield Re-2 School District has officially selected Kirk Banghart as its new superintendent. After an extensive search and evaluation process, Banghart will take over the role on July 1, 2025, following the retirement of current superintendent Heather Grumley at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.</p>

<p>The district received 18 applications for the position and narrowed the field down to four finalists, who participated in interviews during the week of March 3. After careful consideration, the school board chose Banghart, citing his extensive background in education and leadership.</p>
