As the sole institution in Colorado to achieve this honor, Mesa County Libraries have demonstrated excellence in fostering community engagement and fulfilling their mission of enriching lives through learning, discovery, creation, and connection.</p>

<p>The IMLS announced on March 27, 2024, that Mesa County Libraries are among the 30 finalists for the National Medal. For three decades, this award has celebrated institutions that make a significant difference in their communities. The nomination acknowledges the tireless efforts of the library’s staff, volunteers, and board members who contribute to creating an environment where community members can thrive.</p>
