New Restaurant Mr. Sandwich to Open in Fort Wayne
<p>A new dining option is set to make its debut in Fort Wayne by late January or early February. Located in the Riviera Plaza on St. Joe’s Center Road, Mr. Sandwich is the latest venture from George Bourounis, who is turning a longtime dream into a reality.</p>
<h3>A Long Journey to Opening Day</h3>
<p>George’s path to opening his restaurant began 15 years ago with a $50 push lawnmower and a landscaping business. Raised in the food industry, George&#8217;s family owned Cosmos restaurant in Fort Wayne, where he spent much of his youth helping out. This experience fueled his passion for the restaurant business, and now, after years of hard work, he is set to open his own establishment.</p>
<p>&#8220;I’ve been in the food business. My family started off the Cosmos restaurant here in Fort Wayne, so I was kind of raised up working there and helping out my father when I was young,&#8221; George explains.</p>

<p>Mr. Sandwich will offer a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and even desserts, promising a delicious and diverse menu to satisfy every taste.</p>
<h3>A Risk Amid Challenges</h3>
<p>Opening a new restaurant comes with risks, especially as recent months have seen several closures in the Fort Wayne area, including CoreLife Eatery, Cebolla’s Mexican Grill, and Waffle Station—businesses that Mr. Sandwich is stepping in to replace. However, George remains confident about his venture and has committed to a 10-year lease for the location, showing his long-term commitment.</p>
<h3>Family Support and Community Focus</h3>
<p>George’s daughter, Alexia Bourounis, expresses immense pride in her father’s achievement. &#8220;Just growing up in it, I’m proud of everyone in my family, and I’m proud of my dad for making the choice to landscaping as well because I know he’s been wanting this for a long time,&#8221; she shares.</p>
<p>With a focus on providing high-quality food at fair prices, George is hopeful that the community will support Mr. Sandwich and ensure its success for years to come. &#8220;We want to be here for a long time, give nice quality sandwiches, nice fair prices, and hopefully the community will support us,&#8221; he says.</p>
