Grand Junction, Colo. – For thousands of Coloradans, May means one thing: the fresh 2025 Colorado Farm Fresh Directory lands, and the race to the closest peach stand, goat cheese maker, or sunflower festival begins.
This year’s edition, the 16th annual guide published by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, is already creating excitement across the state as families and food lovers hunt for the best local produce, meats, flowers, and events summer 2025 has to offer.
Over 1,200 Farms, Markets, and Stands in One Free Guide
The directory lists every certified farmers market, roadside stand, u-pick orchard, CSA program, winery, brewery, agritourism event, and fall festival in Colorado. From the Western Slope’s famous Palisade peaches to urban micro-farms in Denver and Boulder, it’s all there.
“It’s the single best tool we have to connect eaters with growers,” said Danielle Trotta, Colorado Proud Program Manager. “People tell us every year they discover a market two miles from home they never knew existed. That’s the magic of this book.”
The 2025 directory will go live digitally in early May, with printed copies hitting welcome centers, CSU Extension offices, libraries, and farmers markets by Memorial Day weekend.
Deadline for Farmers to Get Listed: March 13, 2025
Colorado farmers, ranchers, and agritourism businesses have until Wednesday, March 13 to apply for a listing. The fee remains just $25, far below actual printing and distribution costs.
“We intentionally keep it low so no one gets left out,” Trotta explained. “Last year over 1,200 businesses participated, and we expect even more this season.”
Many producers say the directory pays for itself in the first weekend of sales.
Digital Version Gets Major Upgrades for 2025
For the first time, the online directory at coloradoproud.com will feature real-time updates. If a market cancels because of weather or a u-pick farm runs out of strawberries, the listing changes instantly.
Users can now filter by “open today,” “accepts SNAP,” “kid-friendly,” “pet-friendly,” and “evening hours,” making weekend planning easier than ever.
The mobile-friendly site already saw over 180,000 visitors last summer, and the department expects that number to climb sharply in 2025.
Why Coloradans Are Obsessed With This Little Book
Walk into any King Soopers or Sprouts in June and you’ll spot someone flipping through the bright yellow directory in the produce aisle.
Posts with #ColoradoFarmFresh are exploding right now on Instagram and TikTok as people share their first sweet corn scores, sunflower maze selfies, and goat yoga experiences, all discovered through the guide.
One Denver mom wrote on X last week: “Found a dairy 20 minutes away that makes chocolate milk from their own cows. My kids think I’m a hero. Thank you Farm Fresh Directory!”
