Air Service Expansions and Increased Frequencies

Along with the increase in passenger numbers, FWA has also seen air service improvements, with more frequent flights and larger aircraft servicing popular routes. The airport experienced a 7.8% increase in flights and a 7.4% increase in available seats, year-over-year. Some notable changes include:

  • Delta Airlines: Reinstated non-stop service to Detroit (DTW).
  • United Airlines: Added a fourth daily flight to Chicago (ORD).
  • American Airlines: Up-gauged its aircraft for flights to Charlotte (CLT) and extended its third daily non-stop flight to Dallas (DFW).

Positive Outlook for 2025

Looking ahead, FWA is already planning for continued growth. United Airlines has committed to extending its fourth daily flight to Chicago through August 2025. American Airlines will also increase capacity on flights to Chicago starting in April 2025. Additionally, Delta will add a second daily non-stop flight to Detroit beginning June 8, 2025.

Community and Regional Support

Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Northeast Indiana region and passengers. He emphasized that the airport’s continued success is a testament to the hard work of the staff and the community’s commitment to using FWA for their travel needs. “We look forward to continuing our growth and momentum in 2025,” Hinderman said.
