FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – In celebration of Veterans Day, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering free admission to all veterans and active-duty military personnel, along with everyone in their vehicle, on Monday. This Veterans Day gesture invites them to explore Indiana’s natural landscapes, including state parks, state forest recreation areas, off-road state recreation areas, and reservoir properties.
Terry Coleman, Director of Indiana State Parks, expressed the department’s gratitude, stating, “We appreciate the sacrifices and service of our veterans and active-duty military and look forward to recognizing them with a day to explore some of the best outdoor places in our state.”

To receive free admission, veterans and active-duty military personnel are simply asked to inform the gate attendant of their military service upon arrival. The DNR encourages visitors to take this opportunity to experience Indiana’s natural beauty and spend quality time outdoors with friends and family.
