Indiana DNR Honors Veterans with Free Admission to State Properties

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – In celebration of Veterans Day, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering free admission to all veterans and active-duty military personnel, along with everyone in their vehicle, on Monday. This Veterans Day gesture invites them to explore Indiana’s natural landscapes, including state parks, state forest recreation areas, off-road state recreation areas, and reservoir properties.

Terry Coleman, Director of Indiana State Parks, expressed the department’s gratitude, stating, “We appreciate the sacrifices and service of our veterans and active-duty military and look forward to recognizing them with a day to explore some of the best outdoor places in our state.”

To receive free admission, veterans and active-duty military personnel are simply asked to inform the gate attendant of their military service upon arrival.
