Raising Cane’s Delays Fort Wayne Opening by Five Days

Fort Wayne residents eager to try Raising Cane’s will have to wait a bit longer, as the fast-food chain has postponed its grand opening. Originally slated for Thursday, Dec. 5, the highly anticipated location will now open its doors on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

A New Arrival in Summit City

The delay of Raising Cane’s first-ever Fort Wayne location comes as a disappointment to local fans. The restaurant, located at 701 E Coliseum Blvd., occupies the former site of the Northcrest Shopping Center Pizza Hut. It’s expected to bring the popular Louisiana-based chain’s signature offerings—crispy chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and the beloved Cane’s sauce—into the Summit City.

Raising Cane’s has yet to provide specific reasons for the delay, leaving many to speculate about the cause. Despite this, the excitement surrounding the opening remains high, with many eager to experience the brand for the first time.

A Sweet Deal for Lucky Customers

To make up for the wait, Raising Cane’s will offer 20 lucky customers Free Canes for a Year as part of its grand opening celebration. This giveaway, along with other community givebacks, is designed to make the opening event special for those in the area.

The fast-food chain, founded in Louisiana, is famous for its simple yet delicious menu, which focuses solely on chicken fingers. For many Caniacs, this simplicity is part of the charm, making the upcoming Fort Wayne debut a hot topic.

Expansion in Indiana

The Fort Wayne location will be the ninth in Indiana, joining the other Cane’s eateries across the state. The closest Raising Cane’s to Fort Wayne is in Muncie, but the expansion into Summit City signals the company’s growing presence in Indiana.

With the new location set to open next Tuesday, local fans will only have to wait a few more days before they can sink their teeth into the popular chicken fingers.
