The Food Bank of the Rockies is celebrating a major win after raising over one million dollars during Colorado Gives Day, a day dedicated to supporting nonprofits across the state.

Record-Breaking Donations

Held annually, Colorado Gives Day is a statewide event that encourages Coloradans to donate to their favorite causes. The event on December 10, 2024, brought in millions of dollars for local nonprofits, with the Food Bank of the Rockies emerging as one of the standout participants. With its impressive $1 million haul, the food bank is now poised to make a significant impact in helping those in need across Colorado, especially in underserved communities.

Sue Ellen Rodwick, the Western Slope Director for the Food Bank of the Rockies, expressed the organization’s gratitude and excitement over the victory. “We were very excited to hear about this honoring. It meant that Coloradans showed up as a community to support food, and even here on the western slope, we were excited about it as well,” Rodwick said. The funds raised will directly support their mission to provide food for families and individuals in need, particularly in rural and remote areas.
