From old vinyl to vintage teacups, the Lawton Park Flea Market is ready to transform a corner of Fort Wayne into a wonderland of unique finds and feel-good vibes this weekend.
More Than Just Booths and Bargains
It’s not your average market — it’s an event locals have loved for more than half a century. Steve Meyer, who’s been helping run the flea market for years, says the magic is in the mix: part garage sale, part neighborhood block party, part treasure hunt.
“There’s something here for everyone,” Meyer said. “Every booth has a story. That’s what keeps folks coming back.”
One line: Who doesn’t love the thrill of digging through boxes and finding something you didn’t know you needed?
A Fort Wayne Tradition
The Lawton Park Flea Market has grown into one of the city’s beloved summer fixtures. Every year, thousands of folks wander through the stalls, kids in tow, snack in hand.
On Saturday, the fun runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you’re more of a Sunday stroller, you’ll have from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meander.
What will you find? Who knows! Could be:
-
Antique jewelry that whispers stories from the past.
-
Handmade crafts from local artists.
-
Forgotten toys that bring back childhood memories.
-
And the occasional oddball knick-knack that’s just too good to pass up.
A Free Day Out
Admission won’t cost you a dime. Organizers say the point is to bring people together — families, friends, even your nosy neighbor who can’t resist a good bargain.
Bring cash, comfy shoes, and a curious spirit. And maybe a tote bag, because you never know when that must-have lamp or record player will jump out at you.
One short sentence: Parking can get busy, so come early!
Every Booth a Story
Meyer says that’s what sets Lawton Park apart. “These vendors aren’t big box stores. They’re your neighbors, your friends. They’ve spent time hunting for these things or making them. It means something to them — and when you find the right piece, it’ll mean something to you too.”
The only rule? Take your time, wander, and let your eyes do the shopping.
