World Athletics Championships: Olympic-style sports authorities affirmed Friday that Russians won’t be permitted to contend at the current month’s World Athletics Championships Oregon22 because of the conflict in Ukraine.
The league prohibited Russians from significant international occasions soon after the nation attacked Ukraine in February. At that point, World Athletics president Sebastian Coe said the uncommon move showed up “to be the main serene method for disturbing and incapacitating Russia’s ongoing expectations and reestablish harmony.”
The world championships begin next Friday and run through July 24.
