Aspiring athletes in the Grand Valley now have a new space to hone their skills without worrying about weather disruptions. Armour Athletics, a state-of-the-art indoor sports facility, opened its doors in Grand Junction last Friday, offering athletes access to top-notch training resources.
A Vision for Local Athletes
Brett Armour, the owner of Armour Athletics, created the facility to provide opportunities he didn’t have while growing up in the area.
“Growing up here, honestly, and being a baseball guy, I wanted to provide something in this community,” said Armour. “There’s a lot of good athletes on the Western Slope that deserve big-city amenities, and that’s what I wanted to bring here.”
Armour Athletics is designed primarily for baseball and softball training but accommodates athletes from other sports as well.
Facility Features
The facility boasts a variety of amenities to cater to athletes:
- Five Cage Lanes: Enclosed by a 14-foot-high shell net for safety and versatility.
- Pitching Machines: Advanced machines for players to practice their batting.
- State-of-the-Art Technology: Cutting-edge equipment for pitching and hitting analysis.
“It is open to anybody that wants to grow in their game of baseball, learn the game, or get better at it. Even those in other sports will have ways to improve speed and agility,” Armour said.
More Than Just Sports
Beyond athletic training, Armour envisions the facility as a space for personal growth.
“Just all the people I get to meet within the community and hopefully inspire to push themselves to be accountable, to have discipline, and focus in their lives,” Armour shared. “All those things will attribute to success in any respective sport they may be in.”
A Resource for the Western Slope
Armour Athletics is poised to become a cornerstone for local athletes, bringing professional-level training to the Grand Valley. Athletes from across the Western Slope now have access to resources that rival those found in larger cities, setting a new standard for sports development in the area.
