Annual Fort Wayne Museum of Art Gala Raises Over $400,000

The Fort Wayne Museum of Art (FWMoA) hosted its annual gala on Friday, bringing in more than $400,000 to support its growing programs and exhibitions.

A Night of Art and Giving

The event, described as the museum’s most significant fundraising night of the year, drew a crowd eager to support the arts. FWMoA President and CEO Charles Shepard emphasized its importance.

“We want our audience to have a great time. Understand that what they’re doing is supporting the museum,” Shepard said. “We bring exhibitions, children’s programming, and everything else to the community. And it works, it’s the greatest night of our year.”

Months of Planning for One Special Night

Pulling off an event of this scale takes careful coordination. Shepard highlighted the effort that goes into making the gala successful.

  • Planning starts nearly six months in advance.
  • Every detail, from the auction to cocktails, is meticulously arranged.
  • The team ensures guests experience a seamless evening.

“They try and plan every single moment. From the auction to the meal, to everybody’s cocktails, and they do a fabulous job doing it,” Shepard said.

How the Funds Will Be Used

The money raised will directly enhance the museum’s ability to serve the community. Shepard says the impact will be felt sooner than people might expect.

“Expansion, bigger collection, more service, more programming for kids and adults, and that’s just around the corner,” he said.

With continued support, FWMoA aims to elevate its exhibitions and outreach efforts, ensuring that art remains accessible and engaging for Fort Wayne residents.
