The Incident
At approximately 2:30 p.m., a shooting occurred in the mall’s bustling food court. Witnesses reported panic and chaos as the sound of gunshots echoed through the lower level. Authorities swiftly responded to the scene.
Suspects Involved
Two armed men were allegedly involved in the incident. However, only one of them fired the shots. The victim, who sustained a non-life-threatening injury to a lower extremity, was rushed to the hospital. Another person suffered a possible fracture during the ensuing panic but is also in stable condition.
Police Response
The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) issued an Emergency Alert, urging people to avoid the area. Officers worked diligently to secure the mall and ensure public safety. Brandon D. Key Jr., 22, was apprehended and now faces charges including criminal recklessness and intimidation.

This marks the third shooting incident at Glenbrook Square Mall within the past year. The mall, located at 4201 Coldwater Road, has faced safety concerns. Despite reaching out to the mall’s owner, Spinoso Real Estate Group, for comment, WANE 15 received no response.
