Adaptive Heroes, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities, is bringing back its annual dodgeball tournament for a second year. The high-energy event will take place on April 12 at the Colorado Mesa University Foster Field House.
Raising Funds for Essential Support
The tournament is more than just a game—it’s a fundraiser aimed at providing crucial resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Speech Tablets: Funds will help supply speech devices that assist with communication.
- Therapy Toolboxes: Essential tools designed to aid in daily development and skill-building.
According to Adaptive Heroes, approximately 6.8% of people have some form of intellectual or developmental disability, making initiatives like this vital for the community.
How to Participate
Teams of seven can register for $150, securing a spot in the tournament. Spectators, however, are welcome to watch the action for free. The event promises a full day of fun, featuring intense dodgeball matches, food trucks, and merchandise tables.
More Than Just a Tournament
Beyond the competition, Adaptive Heroes hopes to use this event to raise awareness about the needs of individuals with disabilities. By combining sports and community engagement, the organization aims to foster inclusivity and provide essential resources to those in need.
Registration details can be found on the Adaptive Heroes website.
