Crash Closes Horizon Drive and G Road in Grand Junction
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – A serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Horizon Drive and G Road Tuesday night sent two people to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.
Crash Details
The Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD) responded to the accident at approximately 7:40 p.m. Investigators say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on G Road when it veered left onto Horizon Drive, colliding with another vehicle traveling northbound.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were immediately transported to the hospital. Authorities report that one driver is in critical condition.
Road Closures and Investigation
In the aftermath of the crash, both northbound and southbound lanes of Horizon Drive and G Road were shut down as law enforcement conducted their investigation. The closure caused significant traffic delays in the area.
Possible Cause: Speeding
While the full details of the accident remain under investigation, police confirmed that speeding is being considered as a potential factor.
Authorities urge drivers to remain cautious, especially in high-traffic intersections, as speeding remains a leading cause of crashes in Colorado.
