Powderhorn Mountain Resort Kicks Off Ski Season with Record Early Opening

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) — Ski enthusiasts in western Colorado have reason to celebrate as Powderhorn Mountain Resort opens its slopes this Friday, marking its earliest opening day in history.

Skiing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on limited terrain serviced by the Flat-Top Flyer Lift, with additional slopes slated to open following safety and condition evaluations.

Limited Terrain with Plans for Expansion

While the early snowfall has allowed for a record-breaking start, the resort is taking a cautious approach to ensure safety across its trails. Officials noted that the West End lift and its accompanying slopes will open “as soon as possible.” In the meantime, Powderhorn is offering Early Season lift tickets, making it easier for skiers to hit the slopes without breaking the bank.
