GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — It was sweet, it was bold, and it was Sacrolicious.
That’s the name of the pastry stout brewed by Gemini Beer Company in collaboration with Rockslide Brew Pub—an indulgent creation that just clinched the 2025 People’s Choice Award for Best Beer at the Southwest Arbor Fest. The accolade cements both breweries’ reputations as top-tier craft producers in Colorado’s competitive beer landscape.
A Toast to Teamwork and Taste
“This would not have been possible without our team,” said Todd Williamson, co-owner of Gemini Beer Co., speaking after the win. “From Killian and Christian to Cici, Gavin, and all of our bartenders—it’s their energy and love for community that makes this place special.”
Williamson credited the win to more than just a good brew. It was, he said, about collaboration, culture, and cultivating a place where “everyone is welcome.”
What Is Sacrolicious?
The award-winning Sacrolicious Pastry Stout is exactly what it sounds like: a decadent, dessert-inspired beer brewed with rich malts and flavor notes meant to evoke the joy of sweet indulgence. The brew’s balance of boldness and approachability made it a hit with Arbor Fest attendees, who cast their ballots in droves.
“Being a People’s Choice Award winner really contributes to what we’re building—a community space,” Williamson said.
Crafting Community, One Pint at a Time
The victory wasn’t just about flavor—it was also a validation of Gemini’s ethos.
“We’re trying to be very community-focused,” Williamson explained. “It’s not just about serving beer—it’s about creating a vibe where anyone can walk in, be themselves, and be part of something bigger.”
The sentiment echoes a broader movement in the craft beer industry: beer not just as product, but as social glue. And in the fast-growing Western Slope beer scene, Gemini and Rockslide are leading the charge.
A Collaboration That Works
Gemini and Rockslide’s joint effort on the pastry stout is emblematic of a larger shift toward brewery partnerships and creative risk-taking in the local market. Rather than compete, many brewers are collaborating—sharing ideas, ingredients, and audiences.
That sense of camaraderie was on full display at Arbor Fest, where brewers mixed with regulars and newcomers alike in celebration of hops, flavor, and friendship.
Now on Tap—and on Display
The People’s Choice Award trophy now sits behind the bar at Gemini, a proud reminder of the team’s effort and the public’s palate.
