HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) — Huntington County’s annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ program, held at the local Walmart on Thursday, exceeded expectations in a big way this year. According to the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, the event raised over $41,000 and served more than 150 children, setting new records for both funds raised and the number of children helped.

Record-Breaking Success

Law enforcement agencies from across Huntington County, including the Huntington City Police, Roanoke Police Department, Andrews Police Department, Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Indiana State Police, all joined together to participate in the event. The program provides local children in need with the opportunity to shop for essential items, toys, and gifts for their families, creating a meaningful holiday experience.

“This year’s program exceeded all of our expectations,” said Huntington County Sheriff, Chris Newton. “Seeing the smiles on these children’s faces is a reminder of why we do this work. Our community came together in an incredible way, and I’m deeply grateful for everyone who contributed to making this year so special.”
