Power Restored After Outage Affects Thousands in Allen and Whitley Counties
Fort Wayne, Indiana – On June 20, 2024, a widespread power outage left over 2,000 residents without electricity in Whitley and Allen Counties. The outage, which began around 4 p.m., impacted areas in southwest Allen County and southeast Whitley County. Northeastern REMC worked diligently to restore power, and by 5 p.m., all services were back up and running. The cause of the outage remains unclear at this time.

Northeastern REMC’s crews worked tirelessly to repair the system and bring service back to thousands of affected members. Despite challenges posed by downed power lines and snapped utility poles, their efforts ensured a prompt resolution.
