Local Non-Profit ‘Changing Footprints’ Seeks New Home Amid Relocation Challenges

The Northeast Indiana branch of Changing Footprints, a non-profit dedicated to providing shoes for those in need, faces an urgent challenge: finding a new location. Their current rented space is being sold, leaving the organization with a looming March deadline to vacate.

A Mission Rooted in Service

Changing Footprints began its local journey eight years ago, driven by Jim and Cheryl Brockmann. What started as a mission trip to Kenya turned into a long-term commitment.

“We learned they needed shoes,” said Jim Brockmann. “After contacting the Indianapolis branch, we decided to step up and create a hub in Northern Indiana to collect and redistribute footwear.”

From that moment, the Brockmanns and a small group of dedicated volunteers have collected and distributed an impressive 4,000 pairs of shoes each month.

Facing the Reality of Relocation

The unexpected news of their current office’s sale has forced the non-profit to search for a new space. With their operations largely dependent on volunteers, many of whom are senior citizens, the location must meet specific needs.
