OmniSource in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has announced a unique recycling event aimed at supporting local organizations dedicated to community welfare. The initiative, inspired by two employees who have personally benefited from these organizations, will run from December 9 to 13.
Supporting a Greater Cause
Jennifer Marbaugh, a Marketing Representative at OmniSource, spearheaded the event. She shared that the idea was rooted in a desire to give back to the Fort Wayne community.
“I thought it would be great for us to give back to the community, especially since two of our employees have used those services,” Marbaugh explained.
The event will collect donations for the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission and Redemption House—two organizations that provide essential services to individuals overcoming adversity.
Personal Stories Inspire Action
One of the OmniSource employees, Amethyst Sanders, expressed her gratitude toward Redemption House, crediting the organization with helping her rebuild her life.
“Redemption House is a huge part of why I’m clean, why I’m still alive, and why I get to see my son every day,” said Sanders. “That’s the story for a lot of women, and men as well, through Rescue Mission.”
