Moon Farm Shines Bright with Annual Christmas Light Display

Grand Junction, Colo.—Moon Farm’s annual Christmas light display has once again brightened the holiday season, becoming a cherished tradition for locals. This year marked a special milestone as the event shifted from a walk-through to a drive-through format, offering visitors a magical experience while supporting a meaningful cause.

From Tradition to Community Connection

Owner Jay D. Muller takes pride in seeing families incorporate the event into their holiday traditions. “I love that people come to the farm and are sharing their family traditions by making this part of their traditions,” Muller shared. “Love sharing the holidays with everybody.”

The event isn’t just about the lights; it’s a community effort. Local businesses contributed their unique decorations, adding variety and charm to the display. Muller expressed enthusiasm for expanding this collaboration next year, hoping to involve more businesses in creating a collective festive spirit.

Drive-Through Experience Draws Crowds

This year’s drive-through format was a hit, allowing visitors to enjoy the lights from the comfort of their cars. Open nightly from December 12 to Christmas Eve, the display saw a steady stream of 30 to 40 cars each evening.

The new setup wasn’t just about convenience; it also made the event more inclusive. Families could relax and enjoy the spectacle without braving the cold, adding to the appeal of this growing tradition.

A Display with Heart

Moon Farm’s light display serves a dual purpose. While spreading holiday cheer, it also supports The Grand Valley Equine Assisted Learning Center, a nonprofit organization focused on equine therapy. Visitors had the opportunity to donate, adding a layer of giving to the festive atmosphere.

“This is one of those opportunities for us to provide an outlet for the community to enjoy the holidays while also being a fundraiser for our nonprofit,” Muller explained. The event’s blend of joy and generosity embodies the holiday spirit, making it a gift to both the community and the nonprofit it supports.
