Fort Wayne residents should expect some disruptions as repair work on water mains and sewer pipes begins Monday. The ongoing construction will affect Broadway and Brackenridge Street, causing lane restrictions and closures.
Broadway Lane Restrictions
Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, February 19, crews will begin work on two separate water mains along Broadway. The repairs will lead to temporary closures and lane restrictions that could affect drivers traveling through this area.
- The northbound lane of Broadway between Wildwood Avenue and Home Avenue will be closed.
- The northbound lane between Bluffton Road and Nuttman Avenue will be restricted.
The repair work on Broadway is scheduled to last for two days, with the lane closures and restrictions lifting after that.
Brackenridge Street Closure
In addition to the Broadway disruptions, Fort Wayne City Utilities will also be working on a sewer pipe repair on Brackenridge Street. The work will begin at 8 a.m. and will require a full street closure between Fulton Street and Fairfield Avenue.
The closure of this block is expected to last through the end of the week. Drivers are urged to plan alternative routes to avoid delays.
Residents and commuters in the area are advised to be prepared for the changes and plan accordingly as both streets are impacted by these essential repair projects.
