McDonald’s Fried Apple Pie Returns After 34 Years

Burger King Brings Back Its Crown Nuggets

Burger King announced the return of Crown Nuggets on May 26, with the four-pointed snack back in restaurants on June 2, the first time since 2011. Brands, the parent company, 155 Pizza Hut restaurants in the US now feature elements from the chain’s earlier decades, including red cups, checkered tablecloths, cozy vinyl booths, Tiffany-style lamps, classic arcade games, and the unmistakable slanted red roof.

The official Pizza Hut Classic list spans small-town diners from Harrison, Arkansas, to Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, to Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, with some locations dating back 50 years under the same roof. A TODAY segment highlighted how families are driving in from neighboring towns, and sometimes neighboring states, to eat inside a Pizza Hut that looks like the one from their childhood.

The Yum Brands note on Pizza Hut’s retro push details a broader corporate play beyond Pizza Hut: sibling brands have made their own moves, with Taco Bell running a Decades menu earlier this year and KFC bringing back its potato wedges. Yum cited Collider Lab’s 2026 Food Trends Report, which found consumers turning to food for “small, sensory, everyday acts” that provide “comfort, emotional grounding and a sense of control” in an increasingly chaotic world.

Per Pizza Hut’s own Classic locations page, the dine-in revival covers red roofs, vinyl booths, checkered tablecloths, and Tiffany-style lamps. Pizza Hut’s list of Classic retro locations runs across Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, among other states.
