What this page is for

Budgy App publishes news. This page explains what that does and does not mean when you rely on it. We write it plainly, because the readers who most need it are the ones reading about a market move, a travel warning, a recall or a medical study minutes before they make a decision, and they deserve to know exactly how far they can lean on what they just read.

Business and market coverage is not financial advice

Our business desk reports on companies, banks, exchanges, currencies, commodities and economies around the world. It is general information about events, and it does not tell you what to buy, sell or hold. A story about a company’s results is not a recommendation about its shares. A story about a rate decision is not a forecast of what your loan or your savings will do.

A story about a listing, a fund, a token or a funding round is not an invitation to invest in it and not a statement that it is safe. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax or trading advice, and nothing on it creates a professional relationship between you and us. If money is at stake, consult someone who is licensed to advise you where you live and who has seen your own position.

Prices, products and purchasing

Our technology, auto, gaming and lifestyle desks report prices, specifications, availability and features as manufacturers, publishers and retailers publish them. Those details change between announcement and release, between countries and between the day we wrote the story and the day you read it. A story or a review describes what we were told or what we observed; it is not a guarantee that a product will suit you, work with what you own or be sold at the price we quoted. Check the seller’s current listing before you spend money.

Health, science and lifestyle coverage

Our science and lifestyle desks describe research, studies, guidance and trends. A story about a study is a report of what the researchers found and how, not a recommendation that you change what you eat, take or do. Nothing on this site is medical, nutritional, fitness or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for a clinician who has examined you. Where a story describes a treatment, a diet or a routine, the people who should decide whether it is right for you are you and a qualified professional.

Travel, auto and safety information

Travel coverage reports entry rules, advisories, schedules, fares and conditions as governments, carriers and operators publish them, and every one of those can change without notice. Confirm with the official source before you book or depart. Auto coverage reports recalls, ratings and specifications as regulators and manufacturers publish them; whether a particular vehicle is safe to drive is a question for the recall notice itself and a qualified mechanic. Nothing on this site is legal, immigration, engineering or safety advice.

Sports, entertainment and gaming

Results, standings, fixtures, transfer details, release dates, ratings, box office figures and sales numbers are reported as the leagues, federations, studios, publishers and official trackers publish them. Schedules move, deals collapse and release dates slip. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to place a bet, and we do not publish tips, odds analysis or predictions intended to guide wagering. If you gamble, do so under the rules that apply where you live and with money you can afford to lose.

World news and developing events

During a developing story, such as an election count, a natural disaster, a security incident or a major outage, early reports change. We label developing stories, timestamp updates and say when an earlier detail turns out to be wrong. Even so, a story written in the first hours of an event reflects what was known then. Read the timestamp before you rely on it, and treat official emergency guidance as taking priority over anything we have written.

Accuracy and timeliness

We check our work before publication and correct it afterward, as our fact-checking and corrections policies describe. Errors still happen, and facts change. Older stories are left in place as a record of what was known at the time; they are not rewritten to reflect later events unless a correction is required. Read the date before you rely on a story, especially on prices, exchange rates, schedules, legal status and the terms of a deal.

Claims, forecasts and quotations

When a company, a government, a club, a studio or an individual states a figure, a date, a forecast or an achievement, we report it as their claim and we say so. Reporting a claim is not verifying it, and a claim we could not check is labelled that way. When we quote a person or an organisation, we are reporting that they said it, not endorsing it. The people we quote are responsible for the accuracy of their own statements.

Opinion, analysis and reviews

Where we publish opinion, analysis or a review, it is labelled as such, and the views are those of the writer rather than of Budgy App. Analysis of markets, products, teams or films is the reasoned view of the person who wrote it and is not a recommendation to buy, sell, watch, play or avoid anything.

Links, embeds, advertising and images

Stories link to official sites, records and documents so you can check us. We do not control those sites, and a link or embed is a citation, never an endorsement. Advertisements are labelled and served through a third-party network; we are not responsible for advertisers’ claims and we are not a party to any purchase you make from them. Where an image is a file photo, a stock image, a rendering, a screenshot or an illustration rather than a picture of the specific event described, the caption says so.

Errors and no warranty

If you find an error, write to support@budgyapp.com with CORRECTION in the subject line and the link, and we will look at it the same day. The site and everything on it are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Budgy App is not liable for loss or damage, including trading, purchasing or travel losses, arising from reliance on anything published here. Our terms of service set this out in full.
