Vivo V80 Price Leak Bets India Will Pay Flagship Money
A tipster prices the Vivo V80 from ₹63,000 to ₹80,000 before the October 6 launch, even as Geekbench still shows last year’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav has put the Vivo V80 price in India at ₹63,000 to ₹80,000, with Vivo set to unveil the phone at 12 PM on October 6, 2026. The leaked base model is 8GB + 128GB, which is less storage than the V70 shipped with at launch.
Vivo has already locked the screen, the Zeiss cameras, the cell and OriginOS 7. It has not locked the sticker. If Yadav is close, the V-series is walking into money where last year’s chip and 8GB of RAM will have to sell the rest of the phone.
Three Price Tags, One Unchanged Chip
Yadav posted the three leaked India price points on September 28. He listed 8GB + 128GB at ₹63,000, 8GB + 256GB at ₹70,000 and 8GB + 512GB at ₹80,000, and he put every SKU on 8GB of RAM.
THE LEAKED V80 SKUS AGAINST THE V70
| Setup | V80 leak | V70 launch | V70 now |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹63,000 | – | – |
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹70,000 | ₹45,999 | ₹59,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB | – | ₹49,999 | ₹64,999 |
| 8GB + 512GB | ₹80,000 | – | – |
The V70 never sold an 8GB + 128GB India SKU at launch. Its floor was 8GB + 256GB at ₹45,999. The leaked V80 floor asks ₹17,001 more and cuts onboard storage in half.
Match storage and the gap is still wide. The leaked 8GB + 256GB tag of ₹70,000 sits ₹10,001 above the V70’s current 8GB + 256GB list of ₹59,999. The ₹80,000 SKU still shows 8GB of RAM. Yadav also listed UFS 4.1, IP68 and IP69, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, an IR sensor and USB 2.0. Vivo has not confirmed those extras.
What Vivo Has Already Put on Paper
The company confirmed the India date on its own channels: October 6 at 12 PM, with sales through Amazon, Flipkart, the vivo India site and retail stores. Colours are Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black, on a one-piece cold-carved glass back with a floating camera island.
WHAT WE KNOW
- The date: Vivo will launch the V80 in India at 12 PM on October 6, 2026.
- The screen: A 16.73 cm (6.59-inch) 1.5K OLED, up to 144 Hz in selected apps, 5,000 nits local peak, 1.07 billion colours, 1 nit at night, 0.125 cm bezels.
- The cameras: 50 MP Zeiss OIS main (Sony LYTIA 700V), 50 MP Zeiss Night Telephoto (IMX882, 3x optical, up to 100x), a Zeiss ultra-wide, and a 50 MP Zeiss Group Selfie with autofocus.
- The cell: 7,200 mAh typical (7,015 mAh rated), 90W FlashCharge, a claimed 50 percent in 30 minutes in fast-charging mode.
- The software: OriginOS 7 on Android 17, with up to 6 years of security updates.
WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED
- The stickers: ₹63,000, ₹70,000 and ₹80,000 remain a tipster leak, not an MRP from Vivo.
- The chip: A Geekbench run for model V2648 showed Qualcomm QTI SM7750, which maps to Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, with 8GB of RAM.
- The memory map: 8GB across three storage sizes is Yadav’s list, not a vivo SKU card.
- The ultra-wide count: Official pages name a Zeiss ultra-wide; Yadav calls it 8MP.
The 144 Hz claim needs that selected-apps footnote. Vivo says the panel is the smoothest in the India V-series as of October 6, on maximum refresh rate, from its own research. Full 144 Hz is not a promise for every app.
The V70 Already Climbed to ₹59,999
The V80 leak looks like a jump only if you freeze the V70 at launch. That phone has been repriced more than once since February 2026, and the floor is no longer the number on the original box.
HOW THE V-SERIES STICKER MOVED
- 2025, V60 launch: The 8GB + 128GB V60 opened at ₹36,999, the last time a V-series floor sat in the mid-30,000s.
- February 2026, V70 launch: The 8GB + 256GB V70 opened at ₹45,999 and the 12GB + 256GB at ₹49,999. The V70 Elite’s 8GB + 256GB SKU opened at ₹51,999.
- Mid-2026, first V70 hikes: List prices on the V70 and V70 Elite moved up in steps of about ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 as Vivo also lifted T-series and Y-series phones.
- August 2026, another V70 lift: The 8GB + 256GB V70 reached ₹59,999 and the 12GB + 256GB reached ₹64,999.
- September 28, 2026, V80 leak: Yadav’s base of ₹63,000 lands just above the V70’s current 8GB + 256GB list, with half the storage.
- October 6, 2026, V80 launch: Vivo has to print an India price in public.
Read that way, the leak is less a shock debut and more the next step on a line Vivo has already been drawing. The V70 Elite’s original 8GB + 256GB tag of ₹51,999 now sits below even the leaked V80 floor. Anyone who bought the V70 in February is looking at a successor that costs more, stores less at the entry SKU, and still has to prove it is a new phone in the hand.
A 7,200 mAh Cell and a 144 Hz Panel
The hardware case for paying up is the cell and the screen, not a new processor. Vivo’s India launch page calls out a 7,200 mAh V-series battery, the largest it says it has put in a V-series phone sold in India, based on typical capacity as of October 6.
The battery has a typical capacity of 7200 mAh and a rated capacity of 7015 mAh.
vivo India, V80 launch page
That typical figure is 700 mAh above the V70’s 6,500 mAh BlueVolt pack. Lab claims on the new phone are 14 hours of navigation and 39.5 hours of local video playback at 23°C with a full charge, single-app tests. The V70 page still claims 11 hours of navigation and 40 hours of video playback, so the extra cell is being sold as endurance for maps and a long day, not a new video-playback record.
Charging stays at 90W FlashCharge. Vivo says the V80 can reach 50 percent in 30 minutes in fast-charging mode, from empty, in lab conditions. The V70 already charged at 90W, so the speed of the brick is not the upgrade. The pack size is.
The panel is the other advertised step. Size barely moves (16.73 cm against the V70’s 16.74 cm), and both phones quote 5,000 nits peak and 1.07 billion colours. Refresh rate is the change: 144 Hz on the V80 against 120 Hz on the V70, with that selected-apps limit on the new phone. Night brightness can fall to 1 nit, and Vivo is pitching a paper-like reading mode beside the usual outdoor-brightness talk.
Zeiss Puts Three 50 MP Cameras on the V80
Imaging is the other half of the wager. Vivo is not teasing a new chip. It is teasing Zeiss portraits, 4K video styles and a Diwali-specific AI tool in the same week the festive calendar turns.
THE ZEISS STACK ON THE LAUNCH PAGE
- Main camera: 50 MP Zeiss OIS, Sony LYTIA 700V, 1.6 cm sensor, OIS with a CIPA 4.5 rating, f/1.88, 84° field of view.
- Night telephoto: 50 MP Zeiss, Sony IMX882, 1.3 cm sensor, OIS, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom, f/2.65, 33° field of view.
- Group selfie: 50 MP Zeiss, autofocus, 92° lens (90° after distortion correction), 0.8x-2x zoom, f/2.0.
- Ultra-wide: Zeiss-branded; Yadav’s leak puts it at 8MP, which Vivo has not printed as a megapixel count.
The V70 already carried a 50 MP Zeiss OIS main, a 50 MP Zeiss Night Telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 50 MP Zeiss Group Selfie with a 92° view. On paper the V80 camera card is a close cousin, with 4K Cinematic Video (three LUT styles: Vibrant, Modern Movie, Pastel), 4K 60 fps with OIS, and Zeiss 85 mm / 100 mm portrait modes as the new talking points.
AI Diwali Portrait 2.0 is not a forever feature. Vivo’s footnote limits it from 00:00 IST on October 10, 2026, to 24:00 IST on November 20, 2026. Live Sticker Collage, a Diwali Frame and “more than 30” creative camera tools sit beside it. The camera pitch is timed for the festive window that follows the launch, which is also when a ₹63,000 to ₹80,000 V-series phone has to look like a gift, not a chip freeze.
Flagship Money Meets a Midrange Chip
Vivo has not named a processor. A Geekbench listing for V2648, running Android 17 with 8GB of RAM, logged Qualcomm QTI SM7750 and scores of 1,070 single-core and 3,552 multi-core. That SM7750 ID is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the V70, the same 4 nm chip Vivo already prints on the V70 product page with a 1×2.8 GHz + 4×2.4 GHz + 3×1.8 GHz layout.
Keep that chip in mind when you look at what else ₹60,000 to ₹80,000 buys in late September listings. Several of those phones already carry Snapdragon 8-series silicon and 12GB of RAM.
WHERE A ₹63,000 V80 WOULD SIT
| Phone | Recent list | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| iQOO 15R (8GB + 256GB) | ₹53,999 | Revised from ₹44,999 |
| OnePlus 15R (12GB + 256GB) | ₹59,999 | Revised from ₹47,999; Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 |
| Samsung Galaxy S25 | ₹59,999 | Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy |
| Vivo V80 8GB + 128GB (leak) | ₹63,000 | Tipped Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 |
| Samsung Galaxy S26 FE | ₹79,999 | Exynos 2500; 8GB + 128GB listing |
| Vivo V80 8GB + 512GB (leak) | ₹80,000 | Still 8GB of RAM on Yadav’s card |
Those rupee figures are retail lists, not launch offers, and several of them have already been hiked this year as memory costs moved. That is the climate Vivo is pricing into. It is also why a 7 Gen 4 phone at ₹80,000 with 8GB of RAM is a hard sell on silicon alone.
The loud objection after Yadav’s post was exactly that mix: 8GB, a year-old 7-series chip, and a top SKU at ₹80,000. Memory inflation explains part of the climb across brands. It does not explain why the V80’s leaked RAM ceiling stays at 8GB while the V70 still offers a 12GB SKU, or why USB 2.0 appears on the same leak card as a flagship-adjacent sticker.
Spend in this band can already buy leftover X-series stock, a Galaxy S25, or a OnePlus 15R that launched on a Snapdragon 8-series chip. The V80 has to win on Zeiss stills, the 7,200 mAh pack and a new skin, because the CPU listing does not separate it from the phone it replaces.
OriginOS 7 Arrives With a 128 GB Floor
Software is the cleanest confirmed upgrade. The V80 is the first V-series phone to ship with OriginOS 7, built on Android 17. Vivo’s OriginOS 7 page sells Fluid Motion and Spring Animation, Origin Workbench split windows, a Snap-Up Engine for sale-and-ticket taps, and a 72-month anti-aging smoothness test in its labs. It quotes 10 percent shorter app cold starts, 11 percent faster page switches, 60 percent faster memory reclamation and up to 25 GB of extra usable space on a 256GB phone via Memory Fusion.
On the V80 launch page those ideas show up as Pet Pals live wallpaper, StickIt photo stickers, a Wiggle Theme, Snap Notes that turn a whiteboard photo into editable text, and Security Shield across calls, apps and networks. Jovi, the assistant, is pitched as a phone-and-PC agent that can edit a deck on a PC from a phone command. None of that needs a new modem. All of it needs Vivo to keep the 6-year security promise it already makes on the V70.
The sting is storage. If the leaked 8GB + 128GB SKU is real, OriginOS 7’s extra features and on-device AI tools land on the smallest V-series drive Vivo has used as a launch floor since the V60. 4K 60 fps video, Live Sticker Collage and six years of updates eat space. Buyers who want the 256GB leak SKU are looking at ₹70,000, which is ₹10,001 above the V70 8GB + 256GB as it lists now.
Vivo can still print a lower number on October 6, or load the box with bank cuts and exchange credit the way it did for the V70. Until then the public card is Yadav’s. The company has already spent two weeks selling Sunrise Anthem glass, a 7,200 mAh cell and Zeiss night telephoto stills. On October 6 it has to say what that package costs, and whether a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 phone with 8GB of RAM is really a ₹63,000 to ₹80,000 V-series product, or last year’s phone with a brighter panel and a bigger battery.
